more thorough search than usual to locate it.
The Leases. Mortgages, Auction Sales and Pro¬
jected Buildings are indexed in a similar man¬
ner to the plan followed with the Conveyances.
LEASES.
The figures in parenthesis denote thiat the
transaction on the page given is Leasehold, an
assignment of lease or a lease running for a
short or long term of years. This explanation
is made so that subscribers searching for trans¬
fers in £ee can at once distinguish between
the former and the latter without referring
to the pages mentioned.
MORTGAGES.
All the mortgages are indexed agalnat the
street or avenue in which the property ie lo¬
cated, and memoranda added to enable eearch-
srs to find the particulars In "The Record and
Guide." See"Example." The streets and avenues
are so subdivided that very few references are
necessary. All readers of "The Record and
Guide" are aware that the mortgages appear
weekly in alphabetical order, so that they have,
so to speak, a weekly index of mortgagors.
This publication of an index against property
completes the Inform'ation which those inter¬
ested may require.
PROJECTED BUILDINGS,
are included under the same general heading,
and are distinguished by the f which preced_e8
the numbering.
