To THE Editor of the Real Estate Record. I HAVE read two articles in. the Record re¬ cently published, purporting to give a narrative of the origin and growth of the Central Park, which, though correct as far as they go, are very far from being full, or stating justly what is due to others in that connection. It is singular that no one thinks it worth while to give the names of those who were the real projectors of the park in its present loca¬ tion, nor of the gentlemen under whose eyes and direction the ornamentation and improve¬ ments were designed. When that history shall be written, it wUl be seen that the names in this connection which will appear most promi¬ nent, are Ambrose C. Kengsl^vnij, George Bancroft, Edward Everett, Fernando Wood, Egbert L. Viele, Jeremiah Towle, Frederick Hudson representing James Gor¬ don Bennett, and Robert J. Dillon.
