Mr. Brad¬ ley ow'ns 43 adjoining, has options on 45 and 47, and owns the adjoining corner of Hudson st, making a corner plot with a total frontage on Dominick st of 140 feet, which he will, im¬ prove for his own business uses, O. Poller Trust the new 12-sty store and loft building on the site of Chickering Hall, at the northwest corner of Sth av and 18th st The building wa«> begun in 1902, and, as is the case with most of the structures in the new Sth av wholesale district, is well rented. The plot is 78.10xl35x irregular. The site was purchased in 1901 by the Alliance Realty Co. for $560,000, they resold it with a building loan for $600,000, and now hold mortgages on the property ag¬ gregating $1,130,000. In tbe present transaction it was put in at a valuation of about $1,500,000. In part payment Henry Corn took the 4-pty private dwelling at 3 East 57th st, on plot 42x100.5. It is understood that this has been resold to A. Van Home Stuy¬ vesant. Two lots at the northeast corner of Broadway and 57th st are also included in the trade, which is said to involve .$2,000,- 000. M. & L. Hess were the brokers. 6TH AV.—J. Tilford 39 West Slst st, a 4-sty brownstone front dwelling, on a lot 22x100,5. They report the price at $90,000. RIVINGTON ST.—Lazar Shulman has bought No. 194 Riving¬ ton st, a O-sty double tenement, on lot 25x75. 15TH ST,—Chas. J, F. Bohlen has sold No. 429 East 15th st, a 5-sty tenement on lot 25x103, for Carl Erlanger and Mary Bissinger to Mrs, Tony Kopta. New York Life Bnys Nearly a Block. ELM ST.-Tbe New York Life closed a series of purchases on Thursday tbat give it possession of the larger part of the block bounded by Elm, Centre, Leonard and Worth sts, in the rear of its Broadway building The property acquired comprises 22,000 square feet or nearly nine lots. It adjoins a 12-story an¬ nex occupying three lots at the southwest corner of Elm and Leonard sts. The annex will be extended over the new property. It is the intention of the companay to remove to this building the entire clerical and city agency staffs, numbering about 1,000 persons. The space vacated in the home offlce will he let to tenants, rents in Broadway being very profitable at present. The home office is a 12-sty structure occupying the block between Broadway, Leonard and Elm sts and Catharine lane. It is valued on the company's books at $5,000,000. The present annex is valued at $540,000. The property just acquired cost, it is under¬ stood, upward of .$850,000. There is to be a subway station at Worth st, which will be one of the most important in the mer¬ cantile district. The company's purchases were made through Johu N, Golding. They include ISO Leonard and 12S Worth st, belonging to Catharine O'Brien; the southwest corner of Centre and Leonard sts, belonging to the Geo. P. Cammann estate; 132 Leonard st, owned by the estate of Jules LeCocq; 81 to 85 Centre st, owned by Mary W. Mott, and the northwest corner ot Centre and Worth sts, owned by the Lorillard Spencer estate. There are several parcels in the block which the company has not as yet acquired, and while it is said that the property which they have secured they got at extremely low prices, they have offered almost Broadway prices for the remaining lots. NORTH OF 59TH STREET. IIOTH ST.—H. D. Baker & Brother have sold for Samuel Wachi to George Dillon the plot, 75x100,11, on the south side of 116th st, 250 feet west of Lenox av. The buyer will erect two 6-sty flats. 71ST ST.—L, J, Phillips & Co. have sold for Prof. B. R. A. Seligman 40 West 71st st, a 4-sty highstoop dwelling, with ex¬ tension, on lot 20x100.5.
