J., former president of the United States Rubber Co. died at his summer home in Nor¬ folk Ct., of appendicitis. He was born in Norfolk on Sept. 24, 1.827, and in 1855 he was elected secretary and treasurer ot the Union India Rubber (^o., of which he later became president. He also served as president of the Goodyear Rubber Co. for 41 years.
