The following is tbe aemi-auuual ludex of Volume LV. of The Kecokd and Guide, con¬ taining complete lists of the Conveyances and Bnildiugs Projected in New York City during the tirst six months of 1895. Witli tliia isane of the Index the plsin has been adopted of indexing all street and .ivenue frontages, thus simplifying the whole and renderiugit more satisfactory for reference. In many instances there will he found streets, etc., indexed under pages which, on hciug examined, show at once that they are not in their proper order according to our customary alpLahetical and numerical arrangement. A further examination will disclose the fact that while the properties appear more promi¬ nently under other street descriptions, they nevertheless extend to the streets, etc., indi- c.ited hy the Indas and having a frontage on same have been included in the paging. Again, it occasionally occurs that one deed will describe property conveyed in fee and also property under lease. As each has been indexed with or without parenthesis as required hy its description it will be found at limes that a parcel is not in its proper alpha- CONVEYANCES. Note.—The figures in parenthesis—for in¬ stance, page (312) under the head of Allen street, from Eivington to Stanton street — denote that the transaction on the page given is Leasehold, an assignment of lease or a lease running for a long terra of years.
