Freund has bought from the Post estate No. 142 Bowery, a 3-sty building, on lot 26.5x102.4. 22D ST.—John G. Gould has sold No. 158 West 22d st, a 3-sty dwelling, on lot 25x98.9. Frank E. Smith was the broker. 24TH ST.—William L. Sutphin has purchased from James W. Smith No. 122 East 24th st, a 3-sty dwelling, on lot 20x87.6. The buyer has resold to Thomas P. Fitzsimons. William Jopha was the broker. AVENUE D.—Louis Minski & Co. have sold to Isidore Leipzig the northwest corner of Avenue D and 3d st, a 7-sty tenement, on lot 32.6x100. 2D AV.—Henry Stengel has sold No. 92 2d av, and Dr. C. S. Kramer, No. 94 2d av to Mandelbaum & Lewine; both are 3-sty dwellings, on lot 24.6x100. No. 94 is the home of the Tammany Club of the Tenth Assembly District, which has a lease running until May next. Steingut & Co. are said to be the brokers. MADISON ST.—Max Greenstein has sold to Michael Kwint, No, 404 Madison st, a 6-sty tenement with stores, on lot 25x100, for $37,950. LEWIS ST.—Herman Wilber has sold No. 128 Lewis st, south¬ east corner of Houston st, a 5-sty building, on lot 25x70. 21ST ST.—The Peabody Estate has sold to D. B. Freedman through Hall J. How & Co., No. 60 West 21st st, a 4-sty dwell¬ ing, on lot 24x98.9. ITTH ST.—Morris Steinberg has sold through I. Freidus No. 419 West 17th st, a 6-sty tenement, on lot 25x92. MONTGOMERY ST.—Freidman & Feinberg have sold to Isidor Sabetsky No. 23 Montgomery st, a 3-sty building, on lot 19.7x75. 3D ST.-----Theresa Kraft has sold No. 248 East 3d st, a 6-sty tenement, on lot 26.7xl05.11x irregular. 52D ST.—Francis X. IRVING PLACE.—E. A. Cruickshank has sold for Mrs. A. C. Barnes to Mary L. Owens No. 44 Irving pl, a 4-sty dwelling, on lot 26x116, which she purchased in 1S97. 3TTH ST.—Walter C. Wyckoff has bought No. 49 West 37th st, a 4-sty dwelling, on lot 17x98.9. 40TH ST.—Elias & Martin H. Kempner have sold through John H. Berry, Nos. 226 and 228 East 40th st, two 6-sty flats, on plot 50x98.9. They bought the plot 100x98.9, on which the prop¬ erty stands, for $52,000. JACKSON ST.—Arthur M. & E. M. Bullowa have sold Noa. 18 and 20 Jackson st, a 5-sty building with stable on the rear on lot 40x100. ELDRIDGE ST.—Abraham Silverson has purchased Nos. 231 to 235 Eldridge st, old buildings, on plot 74x100, and will erect two 6-sty tenements with stores. STANTON ST.—Adrian G. Hegeman & Co, have sold for Kath¬ arine H. Lillibridge, John A., Adrian G. and Gerard C. Hege¬ man. to' the Corlears Realty Co., Nos. 75 and 77 Stanton st, southeast corner of Allen st. a 6-sty tenement, on lot 43.10x75. 9TH ST.__B. Simons and M, Lipsman have sold No, 637 East 9th st, a 6-sty tenement, on lot 30x92. ESSEX ST.—Gordon, Levy & Co. have sold to Karl M, Wallach No. 46 Essex st. a 6-sty front and 5-sty rear tenement, on lot 25x100. ^, ^ 1ST AV.—Gordon, Levy & Co. have purchased No. 51 1st av, a 5-sty tenement with store, on lot 24x100. GOERCK ST.—Gordon, Levy & Co. have purchased No. 33 Goerck st, a o-sty tenement, on lot 25x100. 47TH ST.—Gurnee & Hopkins have sold for John D, Wing No. 43 West 47th st, a 4-sty dwelling. Columbia College leasehold. '>5TH ST.—Frank P. Bloodgood has sold the Arlington apart¬ ment hotel, an 11-sty building, on lot 50x98.9, at Nos. 18 and 20 West 25th St. 200 feet west of Broadway. TTH AV.—The old Apprentice Library site, at 7th av and 4Sth st, has been sold. It includes the properties at 711 to 715 7th av and lC8'and 170 West 48th st, forming an L with frontages of 50 feet on the avenue and 41 feet on the street. The property was acquired seven years ago by the General Society of Me¬ chanics and Tradesmen as a site for a library. Before work on the building had begun, the Columbia College trustees sold their 49th st block to the John S. White syndicate, taking in part pay¬ ment the White School building, at 18 and 24 West 44th st. Then, in 1899, the Columbia trustees sold the White building to th'e Mechanics' Society at $350,000, taking in exchange, at $350,000, this parcel at Tth av and 4Sth st, and No. IS East 16th st, a 4-sty building, on lot 37.6x172.6. This was just before the Longacre boom began, and values have since greatly appre¬ ciated in the whole neighborhood. The present seller is H. A. C. Taylor, who purchased it several weeks aeo; the buyers are a syndicate, and the brokers, W. E. & F. B. Taylor. MOTT ST.—Polstein Bros, have bought from a Mr. Abbate No. 160 51ott St. a 3-sty front and 5-sty rear building, on lot 25.lxl07.4x irregular. 2D AV.—S. Steingut & Co. have sold for Edwin Hahn No. 190 2d av, southeast corner of 12th st, on a lot 20.8x100; tbe same buyers bought the adjoining house. 20,8x100, making a plot of 41k 100, on which they will erect a 6 or 7-sty apartment, WASHINGTON PL.—Mandelbaum & Lewine have purchased from the estate of Norman Peck and Margaret P. Barnes through E. A. Cruikshank & Co. Nos. 82 to 86 Washington pl, three dwellings, on plot 65.8x97. 53D ST.—Samuel Fuld and Frederick Faubel have aold to Lo¬ wenfeld & Prager Nos. 226 and 228 East 53d st, two 3-sty dwell¬ ings, each 20x50x100.5. ALLEN ST.—Julius & Henry Tishman have sold Nos. 1T9 and 181 Allen st, northwest corner of Stanton st, two 6-sty tenements with stores, on plot 50x75. IITH ST.—The Municipal Realty Corporation has sold No. 71 West Ilth St. a 3-sty and basement dwelling, on lot 22.6x103.3. NORTH OP 59TH STREET. STH AV—I. Townsend Burden has purchased from Andrew Carnegie a plot, 50x100, at the south corner of 5th av and 92d St. Mr. Burden also has an option on 50 feet more fronting on the avenue. The site is to be improved with a residence. Mr. Carnegie bought the block front, 201.5x100, together with 130x 100.8, adjoining, on 91st st, in December, 1898, for $398,000; he sold 135 feet on the north side of 91st st to William D. Sloane, who is erecting two houses for his daughters, Mrs. Jamea A. Burden, Jr., and Mrs. John Henry Hammond. Mr. Carnegie's house occupies the block below, the land fronting 201.5 on the avenue, 200 feet on 90th st, and 300 feet on Olst at, having coat him $591,000. IIITH ST.—Hall J. How & Co. have sold for the estate of James W, Wilson 4 Iota, north side of lllth at, 275 feet west of Amsterdam av, 100x100.11, to the State Realty & Mortgage Co. BROADWAY.—Hall J. How & Co. have sold the lot at south¬ east corner of Broadway and 173d st, 25x125, for Wm. Gum¬ ming, Jr. 2d av.—Sarah Lese has sold to William Abeles, through Bul¬ lowa & Bullowa, No. 2107 2d av, a 5-sty tenement with stores, on lot 25x100, The buyer also owns No. 2105. IIGTH ST.—Thomas M. Stewart has sold to Klein & Jackson and A. & C. Levis Nos. 220 and 222 Weat llGth st, two 5-sty flats, 27.6 and 28x100.11. The buyers recently bought the vacant lots Nos. 230 and 232 on the same street. 80TH ST.—Harriet Lies has sold No. 26 East SOth st, a 5-sty dwelling, on lot 23x74.2. 68TH ST.—Alexander Moore has sold to a Mrs. McCredy No. 11 West 68th st, a 4-sty dwelling, on lot 22.5x100.5- WEST END AV.—John D. Beals has sold No. 578 West End av, a 4-sty dwelling, on lot 23x100. 117TH ST.—Max Marx has sold to Paul Euell Nos. 54 to 60 West 117th st, four 5-sty flats, on plot 100x100.11. The buyer gives in exchange Nos. 4439 and 4449 and 4451 Park av, Bronx. This is part of a trade reported some weeks ago whereby Mr. Marx was to sell No. 161 West SOth st and some Jeraey property. Ives No. 41 West 130th st, a 4-sty and basement dwelling, on lol 20x99.11. 105TH ST.—Stephen McCormick has sold for James McSorley No. 56 West 105th st, a 5-sty flat, on plot 33.5x100.11. 149TH ST.—Davis Karp has sold through Stephen McCormick No. 304 West 149th st, a G-sty apartment house., on plot 50x100. 112TH ST.—Ernest J. Cuozzo has sold for Kate Engelhardt to Joseph Gallo No. 311 East 112th st, a 5-sty tenement. 83D ST.—Elias and Martin Kempner have sold Nos. 219 and 221 West S3d st.
