Jere Johnson's sale of lots in the Flatbush section on Decora¬
tion Day resulted successfully. Although only about 300 lots
were disposed of out of an announced offering of 773, the selling
continued from 1 o'clock until nearly 7. The bidding was good,
but 'there were few large buyers present, which made the sale of
the entire tract in one afternoon practically out of the question.
The property, which is part of the old Kouwenhoven farm, was
sold by order of the Germania Real Estate and Improvement Co.
It is situated on Flatbush and Schenectady avs, Avs M, N and O,
and the intersecting streets from East 45th to East 49th. Tbe
highest price of the sale—$650—was paid for an irregular plot
containing about one and one-quarter lots at the northeast cor¬
ner of Flatbush and Schenectady avs. Other Flatbush av lots
brought from $300 to $350 each. Prices on Av N averaged about
$275 a lot. Ten lots on Av M went for $245 each, and on the
streets the bids ranged from $130 to $180. The lots remaining
unsold after yesterday's offering will be auctioned In the near
future.
