Editor Record and Gcide :
Dear Sir-The Hen placed on buildings on south
side of 66th street, between Ist and Avenue A, by
Tully & C'Connell, for excavating cellars, was en¬
tirely unwarranted, as the fol owiLg facts will show:
Tully & O'CtmnelPs contract with me was to excavate
my cellars a certain depth, which tbey have failed to
do after my notif>ing them in writing and which they
disreg .rded, compelling me to have the work finished
by other parties. The above are the facts in the case,
and I ask the publio not to regard the above lien on
my property as a legitimate transaction.
Yours respectfully,
Louis Wirth, per H. L.
